The Council's Training Committee is developing guidelines for the use of 'tic-tac-toe signals' to facilitate communication between umpires standing at the bowler's end and square leg: it is intended to be a support tool especially for new umpires trying to learn The Secret Language of tic-tac-toe. A draft of that document (in the form of a PowerPoint presentation) is available for your comment by clicking the link below. The author (Jamie Droney) is especially interested in feedback on the signals themselves (for example, there is often more than one signal for each occasion) as well as useability. Comments should be directed to Jamie: Mobile: 0401 719 042
